Lyon, France

Help our youth embark on the opportunity of a lifetime.

“I want to go on this trip because I want to test my leadership abilities with people from other countries. I want to learn how my peers from other countries overcome their difficulties. When I come back, I know this trip will help me have greater impact with the youths that I lead.”

Colins, 6-year Program Participant and Metta Quarters community leader

This year, streetfootballworld selected CameroonFDP as one of 40 organizations from around the world to send a delegation to Lyon, France from June 28 – July 8 to participate in Festival 19.

The 10-day event includes:

  • Skills Development Workshops
  • Girls and Women’s Empowerment Workshops
  • Cultural Exchange
  • Soccer Competitions
  • Celebration of the Women’s World Cup

Most youth in Cameroon will never have an opportunity like Festival 19. While streetfootballworld is generously covering all expenses in Lyon, we need your help to buy airfare for our delegation.

Meet Our Delegation

I want to put a smile on the face of my mum and show her that no matter the hardship we are facing, I too can travel out of the country and learn. No matter our hard background, I still have the same opportunities in life as other kids.

Claudia

I always feel excited and happy when I come to CameroonFDP because I have the opportunity to interact with the staff who treat me not just like a participant in their program but like a kid brother.

Zidane

The best moment of my life was after the end of the PLAY4PURPOSE tournament and I was selected to represent CameroonFDP at Festival 19. I want to go on this trip because  I believe leadership is about service, and I have a duty to those around me.

Rita

We won the girls’ tournament in Kumba which was organized by the Mayor. At the beginning, our team was not the best and people doubted us. It was challenging but we were crowned champions! With the cash prize, trophies and other awards, I had enough to eat, drink and some tips to take back home for being a winner.

Petronilla

I want to go on this trip because I want to test my leadership abilities with people from other countries. I want to learn how my peers from other countries overcome their difficulties. When I come back, I know this trip will help me have greater impact with the youths that I lead.

Colins

This trip is a life changing experience that will permit me to represent CameroonFDP on a global platform, to share our values and vision as well as build a network of future partners.
